Kyva: I will return nuclear status to our country

The return of nuclear status to Ukraine is a priority at present and it will allow resolving conflicts with neighboring countries, Head of the Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) Illia Kyva said.

"I will return nuclear status to our country! This will be the first thing I will do when I come to power. Thank God, the technology is all saved. And believe me, all controversial issues with the neighbors will be settled on the same day when the first tests passed," he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, nothing will solve the problem like a "small nuclear bomb."

"Thousands of tanks and cannons, hundreds of airplanes and helicopters, dozens of infantry divisions will never solve the problem in the way that one small nuclear bomb can solve," Kyva said.

At the same time, he added that in this way we will be able to return respect for our country.

As reported, June 2, 1996 Ukraine officially ceased to be a nuclear Power. The country lost at least 176 intercontinental ballistic missiles, heavy bombers with cruise missiles and tactical nuclear weapons.
