Poltava’s socialists initiate early elections for mayor
The Poltava city organization of the Socialist Party of Ukraine began collecting signatures of citizens for holding early elections of the mayor simultaneously with the parliamentary elections. The head of the SPU regional organization, Serey Cherednichenko, wrote about this on his page on the social network Facebook.
“Today we received a response from the office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, that acting mayor of Poltava, Alexander Shamota did not appeal to parliament on the issue of early elections of the mayor. We are starting to collect signatures of Poltava citizens for the extraordinary elections of October 31, 2019 (during the parliamentary elections)”, he said.
According to the politician, A.Shamot deliberately lied, announcing, that he sent an appeal to parliament regarding the appointment of the date of the election of the mayor of Poltava within the legal period after the removal of Alexander Mamai.
"Therefore, we initiate the commencement of criminal proceedings regarding the violation of the law by Alexander Shamota", said S.Cherednichenko.
